Montgomery Locals Aug 26, 2015
School is back in session and fall activities and sports are underway. Visit the Montgomery Area School District website to view athletic calendars as well as keeping up to date on other activities and events. The website has been updated and offers comprehensive information concerning district happenings and personnel.
The last evening concert in the park for Montgomery will be tomorrow, August 27, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. featuring the McNett Band.
The next “Revitalize Montgomery” meeting will be Wednesday, September 2 at 6:00 p.m. at Tickle’s Music Store. Alice Trowbridge has printed a plan for a “next “project in town. She has outlined what the “Technical Assistance Program” would be in order to create a “Connector Trail.” There is a raised area between the Montgomery Little League baseball fields and the river, that has potential to become a nice walking area that would ultimately create a connection between the River and the town of Montgomery.
A copy of this plan will be available at the Montgomery Borough office for viewing.
“Revitalize Montgomery” continues its busy schedule as summer draws to an end. If interested, meetings are held twice each month. The first Wednesday of the month is an evening meeting at “Tickle’s Music” Store beginning at 6:00pm. The third Wednesday is a 10:00 a.m. meeting at “Valley Rehab” on Main Street. Each Second Saturday event is on Main Street from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Please note that the Adam Room Museum will be open on each Second Saturday event from 10:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m.
The Oak Grove Community Center will be having breakfast on Sunday, September 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Mark your calendars now for these major September events. Details will follow in upcoming weeks. The Elimsport fall festival will be held September 19 and Montgomery’s annual Homecoming festivities will be September 25.
