The weather finally took a cold turn this past week. That “fall feeling” is in the air, and I am looking forward to highlighting our various fall events.
The Hall of Fame game will be held at Raider Field this Friday, October 9. Kick off is at 7:00 p.m. at the Athletic Complex in Montgomery and also we will inducting the Hall of Fame class Friday.
The Montgomery Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducting five former students at halftime at the Montgomery vs. Loyalsock game at Red Raider Stadium.
Dionna Satteson, a four-sport standout, who passed away this past winter’s sports season in a car accident during her junior year. Her award will be accepted by her mother, Sherry.
Also inducted will be Jim Ring (Class of 1965), a former Montgomery football player; Allen Horn Jr. (1971), a football and basketball announcer and former clock operator; Jonathon Carpenter (2000), a former football star, wrestler; and track athlete and Matt Bennett (2001), a football player and wrestler.
“Revitalize Montgomery” continues its work this fall working on the river trail. If interested, meetings are held twice each month. The first Wednesday of the month is an evening meeting at “Tickle’s Music” Store beginning at 6:00 p.m. The third Wednesday is a 10:00 a.m. meeting at “Valley Rehab” on Main Street.

Hydrant flushing will be happening in the Montgomery Borough from Mon. Oct. 12 through Thurs. Oct. 15.
The monthly Borough Council meeting will be held Tues. Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m.
Montgomery’s annual Halloween parade will be held Saturday, October 31 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Trick-or-treating will begin directly after the parade.
