Happy Halloween! Consider attending the Montgomery parade on Halloween night and remember to review the safety procedures of trick-or-treating with your children and grandchildren.

Congratulations to Lady Raiders’ soccer player, Kiara Fry, who broke the school record for goals this past week. Kiara now has 76 career goals.

Congratulations to the Montgomery fall sports teams who wrapped up their regular seasons this past week. Football continues for two more weeks.

The Montgomery Junior and Senior High School will be observing Red Ribbon and Breast Cancer Awareness Week October 26-30. Students will be highlighting these worthy causes with dress up days and daily facts concerning the causes.

A Mary Kay open house to benefit the Red Raider Foundation is being held Sunday afternoon, November 1, in the Montgomery Area High School cafeteria from 2 to 4 p.m. To aid in planning, those wishing to attend should call or text 717-433-1434 by Friday, October 30. The Red Raider Foundation will benefit by receiving 50 percent of the proceeds from this event. Those attending will benefit by finding the perfect gift for everyone on their holiday lists.

Montgomery’s annual Halloween parade will be held Saturday, October 31 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Trick-or-treating will begin directly after the parade.

Also on Oct. 31st all softball players, umpires and referees are invited to Staggert’s Grove in Montgomery near the Surplus Outlet to dress up for Halloween. Prizes and trophies will be given out for the best costumes and teams. For more information call Laura Taylor at 570-560-0324.

The First Baptist Church of Elimsport has resumed its Kids Club on Sunday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. All children ages 4 through 6th grade are invited to come for an exciting time of games, songs and Bible learning. Parents must register students in person on the first night they attend. Youth Group will be held for older students at the same time as Kids Club. This is open to anyone in grades 7 through 12. Questions can be directed to Pastor Todd at 570-547-6277.

“Revitalize Montgomery” continues its work throughout the fall season. They will meet again Weds. Nov. 4 at “Tickle’s Music” Store beginning at 6:00 p.m.
