Congratulations to senior, Gabby Winder, who was chosen by the school district and Williamsport Chamber of Commerce as both the student of the month and student of the year for our high school and Lycoming County. Gabby is involved in soccer, Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Virtuoso and the Clinton Township Fire Department. She will be attending The University of Pittsburg in the fall.
The Montgomery Alumni Association is holding a fundraising event at Wendys in Muncy on Tuesday, January 26 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Questions can be directed to Leona Dewalt. Please note the date correction.
The Lady Raiders won a tight game against Milville this past Friday evening. Winter sports are in full swing. Be sure to check out a game or match with one of our local teams.
January is blood donor month. Maintaining a sufficient blood supply for patients is difficult at this time of year because extreme winter weather and seasonal illnesses often impact donor turnout. The Red Cross encourages eligible donors to resolve to give blood regularly, beginning in January. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types AB, O, B negative and A negative.
The next Revitalize Montgomery meeting will be Wednesday, February 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the Montgomery borough office. The topic of the meeting will be a potential walking trail in town. A core planning group for the project will be discussed as well as potential help from other organizations and individual community members. Plans are being discussed to partner with the borough on obtaining a grant to help with the project. Anyone who is interested in working on this worthwhile project is encouraged to attend.
Please consider following @MASDnews on Twitter or via our YouTube channel, The Raider Tube. Both of these digital mediums are created and maintained by the high school Broadcasting class. The intention is to help share Montgomery news and events with our community if they are unable to attend an event.
