Montgomery Locals Feb.10, 2016

My family and I spent a quiet Super Bowl at home. We are typically most excited about the commercials and food. I hope you all had a great Super Bowl Sunday and I wish you all a Valentine’s Day full of love, family and friendship.

Congratulations to the Montgomery Area School District Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Kim DeLullo. Kim teaches kindergarten for the district.

The next Revitalize Montgomery meeting is today, February 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the Montgomery borough office. The topic of the meeting will be a potential walking trail in town. A core planning group for the project will be discussed as well as potential help from other organizations and individual community members.

The Montgomery Summer Alive program has begun its planning process for the upcoming summer of 2016. The next meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 11 at 6:00 p.m. at Tickle Music store. The committee is in need of more individual and organization help. Please consider taking part in this worthwhile cause.

On Weds. Feb. 15 there will be a church soup fundraiser, vegetable beef and ham & bean. Order by Feb. 12 and pick up after 2 p.m, at the Clinton Baptist Church, 60 Warren St, Montgomery or call 570-547-6131.

There will be a community board meeting in the auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 16. The purpose of the meeting is to inform parents about the upcoming “Blended Learning” teaching model to be implemented district-wide.
