Muncy locals Apr. 6, 2016
Magic is in the air! Two magic shows are scheduled this month in the county. The first one, “The Illusionists” is being being presented through the FCFP and is free at the Community Arts Center on Monday, April 18. To get tickets in advance contact CAC at 326-2424.
The other show is by Steve Hyde, a Luminary reader from Montoursville and a professional magician. Titled “Stars of Magic” he will be performing live on Sunday, April 24th at 2925 W. 4th Street in Williamsport at 2:30 p.m. This is the building across from Williamsport Middle School. I saw him perform at the Meck Senior Center and he does mind reading and Houdini-style escapes. Tickets will be sold at the door.
If any of you are planning a trip outside the US and you don’t have a passport, just go through our public library system. I was at Hughesville Library’s open house on Sunday and they are very accommodating and helpful, and best of all, available on weekends. At the James V. Brown Library, they will even take your passport photo, making it an easy one-stop for the whole process.
The General Primary is coming up on Tuesday, April 26 and sample ballots for Lycoming County are available at www.lyco.org/departments/voterservices. This is one election not to miss.
Congratulations to Farmsworth Farms and Barry Farmsworth who received the district’s Cooperator of the Year Award for 2015 through the Lycoming County Conservation District. Barry owns 700 acres in Moreland, Franklin and Jordan Townships. He and his family raise beef cattle. The district just celebrated 60 years at a banquet at the Pennsdale Trinity Methodist Church hall.
Another big congratulations goes to Morgan Craft who shot a perfect 16 of 16 in a gold medal match for the International Shooting Sport Federation season at the World Cup on March 22 in Nicosa, Cyprus.
