Montgomery Locals Apr. 13, 2016
Please excuse me from writing my column this week. After the amount of snow we got on Saturday I spent the rest of the weekend curled up like a fetus and weeping in frustration. Because that much snow two weeks after Easter and after the trees have begun to bud is just wrong.
Just kidding, readers. But surely I’m not the only one who woke up on Saturday, looked out the window at the snow and groaned. I know that there are far greater tragedies in life than snow in mid-April, but everyone needs to indulge in a certain amount of whining sometimes.
Anyway, on to cheerier topics.
April is National Humor Month, so while I’m trusting that you weren’t causing torment to too many people on April Fool’s Day, it’s a good excuse to enjoy some laughter. Did you know that Montgomery Public Library has a huge collection of movies that you can borrow? I haven’t seen a collection of movies that large in one place since video rental stores were booming businesses in the golden age of the VCR. So go down and borrow a good comedy. It will give you something to do during rotten weather (Oops I’m whining again. Sorry about that.)
