Muncy locals Aug. 10, 2016

By Staff | Aug 10, 2016

The Vineyard Community Activity Center, Muncy’s active and proactive youth center has given an update on everything they have accomplished since their move to Sherman Street. There are now three pool tables, air hockey and video games, more board games and additional space outside for basketball and winter sledding. The center also likes to host parties for the children and parents, one at Halloween and another at Christmas. A new heat system has been installed and handicap accessibility. Cindy Collister said they applied for a grant to put in a roof over the porch and railings but did not receive it. Therefore, they are seeking funds for this project and will need $2500 worth of materials. If interested in helping them out in any way, call 546-0633.

Such a lovely evening on Saturday for the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra to perform in Muncy. There was plenty of parking and hundreds of people came. A lovely reception was held afterwards for the musicians, sponsors and supportersl at the home of Bill and Linda Poulton who for the second consecutive year, have offered their ample back yard for such a welcoming event for the Muncy community.

There is still time left to visit a state park this month before school starts. Local resident Brian Valencik shares some of his experiences at World’s End this week and his photos of vistas, waterfalls and wildlife do not do it justice, as the beauty of our state parks is endless, and needs to be seen with the naked eye.

And don’t forget the Master Gardener’s Garden Fest this Saturday morning at the Lysock View Complex just off Warrensville Road.
