WWII museum features victory in the Pacific
SONESTOWN – On Saturday, September 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Endless Mountains War Memorial Museum on Main Street in Sonestown will be remembering America’s victory in the Pacific Theatre during WWII, and will have the honor of presenting two WWII Veterans who served and participated in the Pacific campaign.
Dick Donald, who has been a featured speaker on other occasions, took part in seven major island campaigns including Iwo Jima, will be speaking, as well as Charlie Brooking who served on a PT (Patrol Torpedo) boat in two Theatres.
The War Museum will also be open for touring and is accepting donations for their present building expansion project.
The Museum is proud and fortunate to have these WWII veteran guests as the numbers for veterans are dwindling, so please do not hesitate to come out and listen to these great men from the Greatest Generation and let them know their their sacrifices are appreciated and they will never be forgotten.
