Hughesville Locals Sept. 28, 2016

By Staff | Sep 28, 2016

Autumn arrived last week and we have been blessed with a wonderful beginning to the season. This coming weekend may have some wet weather in store, but we will hope that we do not have any violent storms in the area like the one that struck the Muncy and Montgomery areas last week. I am glad to have the quiet at night now that we don’t need either an air conditioner or window fan to cool the house!

The International Space Station (ISS) is going to be visible in our evening for the next couple of weeks as it orbits the earth. The time will vary, but you will be treated to a great view of the station as it moves across the sky. Check the NASA website for the precise time and direction for each evening’s viewing.

Now that October is nearly here, there are many fall festivals and events for everyone to enjoy. Two that you might find interesting are the Bi-Planes, Trains, and Automobiles event in Eagles Mere and the Sullivan County Fall Festival at the fairgrounds near Forksville. Sullivan County has much to offer, whether you enjoy winery visits, mountain hiking, or a relaxing stay in the historic village of Eagles Mere.
