By Staff | Oct 5, 2016

Bethany United Methodist Church of Hughesville marks 150 years. Its milestone will be celebrated with a special service Sunday afternoon, October 16 at 2 p.m.

HUGHESVILLE – For 150 years, the church on the corner of Academy and Second Street in Hughesville has been a gathering place for worship.

Pastor Jane O’Borski and the congregation at Bethany United Methodist Church, invite the public to attend a service of celebration Sunday afternoon, October 16, at 2 p.m.

Word and scripture will be presented by the pastor. As a church is less about mortar and brick, and more about its people, Robert Webster will share recollections of past stewards.

Also planning to attend are former congregates, now pastors with charges, Michael Hill of Elimsport and James McGee of Shickshinny. Pam Lamb, former choir director will return along with several musicians.

A time of food and fellowship will follow the festivities.
