Historical Society and fire company to pay tribute to Radio Corral

By Staff | Oct 14, 2016

MONTGOMERY – The Montgomery Area Historical Society and the Clinton Township Fire Company will join with McNett Country to pay tribute to the former Bob and Dean’s RADIO CORRAL on Sunday, October 16, at the fire hall.

If you have fond memories of the Radio Corral, or are a fan of country music, you will enjoy the program with Shawn and Tim McNett, sons of Dean and Dorothy McNett, as they and their band entertain at the fire hall beginning at 2 o’clock.

The brothers carry on the tradition of their father, Dean, and their Uncle Bob McNett. “There is a lot of history here, folks, with the memories going back to the Claars in 1948 at Jim and Jane’s Park which was nestled among the trees along what is now known as McNett Road,” said Kaydee Miller with the Montgomery Historical Society. Dorothy McNett will display items of historical interest, some of which will only be displayed here.

The doors will open at noon and food will be available from the fire company.

A record album is featured in the window of the Adam Room, part of the Montgomery Public Library. The cover is autographed by both Bob and Dean McNett and was donated to the historical society last spring.

Donations will be taken at the door.
