GLEN MAWR – Often referred to as tragic, the life of Muncy artist Eugene ‘Jean’ Mohr had a happy ending. The itinerant painter made his mark in many places, some on the walls of several local churches. One such painting adorns a wall at Point Bethel United Methodist Church along Deer Lake Road off Route 220 just south of Mawr Glen.

On Sunday October 30, at 9:30 a.m., Point Bethel will host the Kedron congregation. The public is also invited to attend to hear and see the story of Mohr’s life and religious paintings. Identifying four local churches with the artist’s works will be Luminary correspondent Carol Sones Shetler.
