Hughesville Locals Nov. 9, 2016
Now that the election has taken place, it’s time for everyone to take a deep breath and look at all the ways we can work together for the best outcome for our nation. I know that our local population can find many ways to make this area strong and supportive of all its residents. When we see a need, we pull together and often surprise ourselves with the outpouring of services, goods, and donations, and I expect that will continue. And thank goodness we don’t have to hear so many negative advertisements!
Last weekend the county Veterans Day parade was held in Montgomery. I was unable to attend, but heard many good comments about the parade. Thank you to the Hughesville High School Spartan Marching band for representing our school district so positively! Congratulations to Mr. Geoff Harman, Ms. Rae Temple, and all the talented student musicians and color guards for a tremendous fall marching season! The band will have many members going to Florida to perform in the Disney parks in Orlando later this month, and then will march in Hughesville’s Christmas Parade on December 4. Congratulations to the HHS Spartan Football team for advancing to playoff competition! I had a great time cheering on the Spartans this fall.
