Hughesville Locals Nov. 23, 2016
Snow! We had a week of uncertain forecasts, with the prospect of snow versus rain changing daily, but it turned out to be even more snow here than most of us expected. Of course, it was nice that almost none of the local roads and streets were affected, since their surfaces were still too warm and the snow melted as it fell. It isn’t every year that we have snow before Thanksgiving, so this may be one of those years when a good snow shovel or snow blower proves to be useful.
The Greater Hughesville Business Association (GHBA) is pleased to welcome all shoppers to local shopping opportunities. Make sure that you get your “Five to Drive” entry card, visit at least five of the participating GHBA member businesses, and submit your entry to win one of the many, many great prizes. Maybe you will be the lucky winner of the top prize, and drive it home! The promotion begins this Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, and ends on Sunday, December 4 with the drawings occurring after the borough’s Christmas parade. Good luck to everyone!
I hope everyone has a safe and joyous Thanksgiving holiday and family gathering. Best of luck to all the hunters who will be heading out next Monday!
