Hughesville Locals Dec. 21, 2016

By Staff | Dec 21, 2016

Congratulations are due to some more Hughesville residents who have excelled in their classwork and studies at Penn College. The college’s commencement ceremony was held Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport. Among the students who earned special awards was Jesse Coleman Hulien, Hughesville, an engineering design technology major. He was presented with the Engineering Design Technology Faculty Award, presented to a faculty-selected graduate of the baccalaureate-degree major who has demonstrated scholastic achievement, interest in the field, and potential for success in the future. Congratulations, Jesse!

Pennsylvania College of Technology students set an impressive record during their fall-semester participation in the Business Strategy Game. In all, Penn College student teams earned spots on the international game’s weekly Top 100 lists 21 separate times. The Business Strategy Game is an international business simulation competition used not only in undergraduate capstone classes, but also in graduate classes and as a corporate-level training tool. We congratulate Bradley S. Wentzel, Hughesville, a member of the team which was most dominant in competition.

As winter begins and the calendar year ends, we can look back at the achievements and disappointments, the victories and the defeats, whether they are personal, national, or global. It seems that 2016 has truly seen some world-shaking events, and it will be interesting to see what is in store for us in the new year that approaches. I hope that all our readers will enjoy a loving and comfortable holiday season, and a prosperous New Year!

Merry Christmas, everyone!
