Many congratulations to the Montgomery Area Red Raider Marching Band and director Brian Rehn for being just one of fifteen high school bands chosen to perform in Washington D.C. as part of the official Inauguration festivities. They will perform on Thursday for the Presidential Inaugural Voices of the People Welcome Concert and again on Saturday at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial. You have made your hometown very proud, and we know that you will do an amazing job!

The Montgomery Area Public Library recently announced they will be having a Winter Kids Club that will meet on February 11, 25, and March 11. Kids from Pre-K through 8th grade are invited to attend. The theme is “Thinking Outside of the Box” and the club is having a Problem Solving Contest that invites families to choose a problem they work around in the Montgomery area and come up with a solution. A list of contest rules and guidelines are available at the library. The winner will be chosen in March and will receive a family-themed goodie bag. Montgomery Borough is offering Hometown Hero Banners once again. If banner orders are placed early, a 15% discount will be offered for a savings of $31.50. To order early, applications with picture and payment must be given to Fae Herb by March 30. Applications will be accepted until August 31. Applications are available at Montgomery Borough, Clinton Township, and Brady Township offices, and Montgomery Weis Market. Applications can also be downloaded at www.Lyco.org (Departments Veterans Affairs Hometown Hero, Inc.) The Clinton Township Municipal Office recently adjusted their hours to 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Sat. Jan. 21 The Clinton Baptist Church will hold a community lunch from noon until 2.
Mon. Jan. 23 The Clinton Township Board of Supervisors will meet in the Municipal Building at 6:30 p.m.
Tues. Jan. 24 Taco Bill’s Taco Madness will be serving food at Kidron from noon until 1, and at Nay’s Not Quite New Thrift Store until 7.
Weds. Jan. 25 The Clinton Township meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building.
Mon. Jan. 30 The Montgomery Area Independent Football League will hold a fundraiser at Muncy Wendy’s from 5 to 8 p.m. Ten percent of proceed made during those hours will be donated to the league.
