Montgomery Locals Feb. 1, 2017
Many congratulations to Montgomery Virtuoso, Jr. for their wonderful performances last Saturday night. Virtuoso, Jr. is made up of seventh and eighth graders and the group presented “An Evening of One-Acts” in the high school auditorium. The first short play was “Cinderella Wore Combat Boots”, a comedic spin on the traditional fairy-tale. It was followed by “Baby”, a humorous play about an infant’s first year of life seen from the perspective of a baby.
The young actors and actresses did an excellent job and kept the audience very entertained! The crew members behind the scenes did wonderful work as well making sure that everything on stage went smoothly – from running the equipment to making sure that the performers looked good.
Cast members of “Cinderella Wore Combat Boots” were: McKenzie Heasley as Cinderella, Addi Heasley as Mazzarella, Kennedy Marsh as Godzella, Julia Stetts as Motherella, Gabriel Wright as The Storyteller, Carson Bloom as the King, Kelly Showers as the Prince, and Hailey McGrath as Plant.
Cast members of “Baby” were: Jewels Tawney as Baby, Avery Jessell as Coach, Iris Keister as Timekeeper, Hailey McGrath as Doc, Mallorie Myers as Mommy, Gabriel Wright as Dadddy, Kennedy Marsh as Auntie, Donovan Houseknect as Unc, Emma Woodworth as Grandma, Carson Bloom as Grandpa, Natalie James as the Babysitter, and Mason Schreiber as the Boyfriend.
Crew members were: Marissa Dietrich director, Bethany Patterson student director, Emma Klopp and Bethanie Patterson set design, Margaret Dietrich sound technician, Emma Klopp stage manager, Emma Woodworth, Danielle Boyer, and Mirabelle Fink stage hands, Courtney Skelton and Jacob Cuddeback Lighting Design, Natalie St. James microphones, Autumn Barrett poster art, Iris Keister and Mirabelle Fink make-up and hair, Katelyn Taylor and Jewels Tawney photography, and Mirabella Fink costumes.
The talent that was displayed was impressive and the young performers kept the audiences laughing throughout both plays. It’s nice to know that we several years of good theatrical shows to look forward to!
