Montgomery Locals Feb. 8, 2017
Valentine’s Day will soon be here, so be sure to get your gifts and cards ready for your loved ones.
If you want to help send some love to someone who may not receive a card on Valentine’s Day, many nursing homes take donations of cards to distribute to their residents. If you’re feeling so inclined, please contact the nursing home of your choice and ask what the donation procedures are for that facility.
This week a popular speaker was at the high school. During an assembly program Bob Lenz shared an anti-bullying message to promote courage and respect. The First Baptist Church in Elimsport also welcomed him for a community talk on Tuesday. He was accompanied by an illusionist to reach more youth and to get them to open up more to share their experiences. His new book is available at the school and church, “Dignity Revolution: Standing Up For The Value of Every Person” where he speaks honestly on the issues of bullying, self-harm, suicide and substance abuse.
- THOT “No one keeps his enthusiasm automatically. Enthusiasm must be nourished with new actions, new aspirations, new efforts, new vision. Compete with yourself; set your teeth and dive into the job of breaking your own record. It is one’s own fault if his enthusiasm is gone; he has failed to feed it.” – Papyrus
