Montgomery Locals Feb. 15, 2017
The Winter Kids Club is in full swing at the Montgomery Area Public Library. The group is headed by local author Danita Evans who has chosen the theme of problem solving. When asked why she wanted that theme to be the focus of the meetings, she said, “I picked it because I am passionate about creativity and problem solving used together to make a great place greater! By encouraging each other to invest our time, creativity and problem solving in our local community Montgomery will just get more amazing!”
While volunteering to lead a club geared for children from pre-K through the eighth grade may seem like a daunting task, Evans has embraced the challenge with enthusiasm. She commented, “My favorite thing about volunteering at the library is I get to meet new people from all walks of life! The library is a fantastic meeting place for everyone. It broadens my horizons and those of my children. I also love that my children see me volunteering in the community. That way when they grow up maybe they will volunteer too!”
