Muncy locals June 28, 2017
I was saddened, disappointed that the impending forecast of rain had to close the Muncy 4th Friday event. There was much discussion by MPBA members, but due to liability, hazards with winds, and some cancellations, the event itself was cancelled.
The Church of Resurrection moved much of their activities indoors that night. It was neat to watch a live concert band perform inside the church as we sat in the pews other than going to Mass.
I was able to make Brandon Park’s Homemade days on Friday. There was more rain in Muncy at that time (around 4-5 p.m.) than Williamsport. Some of the vendors did not set up on Friday but Saturday showed a better crowd, and proved to be a much better day for most events.
Meagan’s Box Foundation held an event Saturday and Sunday at the Hughesville Fairgrounds during the harness racing, and the weather was perfect for the many family, fun activities. Meagan is a hard worker and her family is supportive, giving time to help her with this fundraiser that makes Christmas so worthwhile with all the presents she wraps for deserving families.
Last Thursday night my husband and I visited the newly formed Pennsylvania Chop House that was formerly known as “Nancy and Johnny’s” in Pennsdale. It has been taken over by new owners and they have updated the entire building, inside and outside, with an upscale culinary experience that is worth the drive. The service was timely and courteous, and the specialty of course, was their steak cooked perfectly to specifications. I had the petit filet while Paul enjoyed the 8 oz. sirloin special. I especially liked the white tablecloths and napkins. That’s a good sign of a good restaurant! Well done Chop House!
