Muncy Locals Sept. 20, 2017
National Newspaper Week kicks off on Sunday, October 1. Sponsored by the by Newspaper Association Managers, Inc., this year’s theme is “Real NewspapersReal News!” I am very grateful to all the faithful subscribers and readers of The Luminary over the years.
Kris and Bill Walters of Unityville were recently featured in AAA’s regional travel guide for their trip and tour of Ireland, while local artist Nella Godbey-Storm was featured in Showcase of the Williamsport Sun-Gazette for her exhibit that she will have at the Peter Herdic House for First Friday in downtown Williamsport. Her exhibit is called “Love Letter to Lycoming County.”
Last Friday morning I attended a workshop at the Triad Center in Pennsdale. Brittany Dincher, owner, focused on how we can develop our own intuition which we all have. She told us it is like a muscle”You develop it as you use it.” She structured the workshop in a quiet, relaxed environment and I found it very engaging. We discussed the importance of thoughts, and whether we are guided from a higher source, or do we act on impulse? She said she had some local police officers who took the same workshop the day before and the room was full. In their line of work, she advised them on how to pay attention, to watch for signs, to observe and look for symbols. Sometimes we just need to slow down and align our thoughts, and let our good conscience take over. I used some of the techniques I learned on Saturday when I had to balance several things to come together for a big 90th birthday party for my mother. I will share more of Brittany’s energy work as she presents the opportunities.
To really enjoy the fall season, you may want to take advantage of one of the train excursions. The Great Pumpkin Express will be Sat. Oct. 21st and the Fall Foliage Tour is Sunday, October 22nd. For times and tickets call the Lycoming County Visitors Center at 570-327-7700 or 800-358-9900.
