Montgomery Locals Jan. 24, 2018
Montgomery has had some strange weather recently. After narrowly avoiding a flood two weeks ago that was caused by unusually high temperatures, the town was plunged into a sleety, icy mess that caused an early dismissal as well as a snow delay for the school kids. They are calling for temperatures to rise yet again, so hopefully old man winter will be on his way. Sadly, this is probably just wishful thinking because rural Pennsylvania weather can be pretty unpredictable through the month of March. Remember the March Blizzard last year? Personally, I’m ready for spring. Sunshine, warm weather, and blooming flowers sound heavenly right about now.
In the event that more winter storms happen, please make sure to have some plans to stay warm and comfortable if the power goes down. Always keep some flashlights, extra batteries, or some candles handy. On days when the weather is good, make sure to get stocked up on groceries and some fun things to do. The library has a great variety of books and movies for all ages, so whether you want to revisit an old classic story or discover something new, you’re bound to find something that will suit your tastes. Even if you’re not a reader, take some to visit and browse around. You’re bound to find at least one book that will interest you.
