HUGHESVILLE – The Hughesville Rotary announced its service organization for this month. They will be giving away seedlings on Saturday, April 21 at the northeast corner of Main and Water Streets in the downtown borough of Hughesville.

This event is the continuation of Earth Week activities. According to member, Bill Sherwood, up to four two year old seedlings will be handed out free of charge to individual families interested in planting them to help improve the environment.

“Look for the town’s Rotary Clock”, he said. “This location will be appropriately marked with signs. Don’t miss picking up your free seedlings.”

The Hughesville Rotary has offered this as a service in the community for a number of years. “Planting trees will improve our air quality and the environment in which we live,” Sherwood said. April celebrates Earth Week and Arbor Day which is Friday, April 27.
