Muncy Locals June 27, 2018

By Staff | Jun 27, 2018

Summer outdoor concerts are always fun on these summer evenings. Just a reminder the Repasz Band will be playing July 1st at Brandon Park in Williamsport and again in Eagles Mere on July 4th.

Liberty Manor, a senior day care on John Brady Drive, is now taking enrollment. It is run through Families United Network and a form is available at their website www.liberty-manor.org. They will be able to administer necessary medications and provide snacks and two meals a day. A full time nursing staff will oversee supervised care for your loved one outside the home during the day.

Kathy at Centered Earth Clay Studio in Pennsdale has started her day camps for kids. This week they are making impressions and painting objects of nature.

I toured the summer fun camp at Hughesville High School last week, and was amazed at how much fun the kids were having. They learned how to mix compounds in chemistry, early grades made pasta pots, and the older kids were in the machine shop. It was a two week program sponsored by their education foundation. Meanwhile Muncy started their summer rec program on June 4th and it will end on July 26. It is held at Myers and kids get to participate in a lot of sports both in the gym and on the playground. Montgomery started their Summer Alive and offer hot meals at lunch time at Montgomery Park. All of these programs could not happen if it weren’t for the teachers, counselors, coaches, paid staff and volunteers who run them. Our communities not only provide a safe place for our children, but also give them a wide array of experiences to choose from so they can learn something new. And when I watch their faces, they are having fun too.

A hymn sing is planned at the Muncy Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation for Tuesday, July 3 in the afternoon. It will be for a World Day of Prayer led by Bob & Sherry Beiber, Sarah Howard, Steve Williams, Jim Wentzel, Homer Kendrick, and Dot Barto.

A stop at Cole’s Hardware is a must. Very convenient, I must say, to pick up those little things you might need for home improvement, and a good place to get house paint. I took some color swatches home to see what color to make our new bathroom that is under construction. While there we found a nice garden hose and nozzle.

Finally, visit the Muncy Public Library for and ask them about Hoopla. If you have a smart phone, you can now take your library with you by accessing thousands of different titles, audiobooks, music albums and even movies. They say the choice is yours!
