Montgomery Locals, Oct. 17, 2018

By Staff | Oct 17, 2018

This past weekend has been a busy one in Montgomery!

The varsity football game was the last one of the season, and it was Senior Night. All of the twelfth grade fall athletes, marching band members, and cheerleaders were honored before the game. Each student was announced by name and escorted by their parents or family members. It was poignant to see the twelfth graders step onto their home field for the last time, whether they were there to play football, play instruments, or cheer.

The Montgomery Volunteer Fire Company had their annual Fall Festival and Pumpkin Roll on Saturday. The winners of the Pumpkin Roll were as follows: 1st place, $200 to Kevin Bryson; 2nd place, $100 to Loretta Fredin; 3rd place, $75 to Carter Finck; 4th place, $50 to Smoke Moser; 5th place, $25 to Amelia Sanguedolce; 6th place, $10 to Sam Harer; 7th place, $10 to Jay Brown; 8th place, $10 to Kelly Oister; 9th place, $10 to Bob Douglass; and 10th place, $10 to Jeff Waltman.

The library also had their annual Fall Book fundraiser. I picked up a few books myself. It was nice to be able to stock up on some good books before the snow starts to fly and curtail outdoor activities!
