Hughesville Locals Oct. 24, 2018
I find it pretty amazing that our first frost didn’t occur until this past week. I had become a very neglectful pseudo-gardener by that time, so it is a relief that I don’t have to feel any more guilt about what I didn’t do. But, as every optimistic lover of green plants is prone to believe, I will do better next year — I hope.
While sports fans across the country may have their attention turned to Major League Baseball’s World Series, local sports fans are eagerly anticipating the Big Game that is coming up on Friday — the Hughesville/Muncy matchup in high school football. Fans and alumni of both schools will be filling up the football stadium at Hughesville High School for this year’s contest, and I look forward to a great game.
It will also be Senior Night when players, cheerleaders, and band members are recognized for their years of representing the student body.
The Hughesville Area Public Library has a full schedule of programs for patrons of all ages. A wonderful afternoon of Halloween crafts and excitement was held on Saturday. The staff at the library is always ready to help you find just the thing to make your leisure time more enjoyable and to help with any computer time or information services you may need, as well. While there, meet Eric who will help you with the technology and downloading the ebooks. Make it a habit to visit the library regularly.
Happy Halloween!
