Hughesville Locals Apr. 3, 2019
A cool beginning to April is a good thing, I think. It’s much preferable to those times when we have had a blast of 70- or 80-degree weather, followed by a return to more normal temperatures which then seem cold by comparison. This week I found myself considering 55 to be a warm day!
The Hughesville Rotary Club is preparing for two of its eagerly anticipated annual events, the Easter Egg Hunt and the tree seedling give-away. Events like these, coming up on April 13 and 20, are only possible because of community members who volunteer their time and energy. Please consider your talents and consider volunteering with one or more of our local civic organizations. Whether it is a club, church group, one of our volunteer fire companies, or a youth organization like LLB or AYSO, the community needs your help and support, not just in dollars, but in time and your ideas. Let’s all commit to making Hughesville strong!
Baseball season has begun, and the HHS Baseball and Softball teams are both off to a great start. They will be competing in regular season play for the next month or more, so be sure to get a schedule and enjoy a few games. Watching live softball or baseball is a great way to enjoy some outdoor time.
