Montgomery Locals May 1, 2019
This past weekend Montgomery Area Little League held their Opening Day ceremony at the Clinton Township Field. High school junior Laura Ulrich sang the National Anthem. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, along with the Little League Pledge.
The perimeter around the baseball diamond was filled with grinning parents and family members as this year’s baseball, softball, and tee-ball players each had their moment in the sun as their name was announced to the crowd. After each player was recognized with their team, the ceremonial first two pitches of the season were thrown. The first pitch was thrown by Noah Gearhart, and the catcher was Luke Dietrich. The second pitch was thrown by softball player Sloan Wooten, and the catcher was Brynn Fisher.
The players were then treated to hotdogs and beverages at the concession stand.
