Hughesville Locals May 8, 2019
Ah, the warm Spring weather has finally arrived! It is so nice to walk outside without thinking about a jacket, gloves, or a hat — unless one is headed for the Little League fields, of course. It seems that the temperature drops by five or ten degrees between my house in town and the bleachers in that complex, so my car ends up stocked with warm clothing and a blanket or two. Despite that, I do enjoy watching softball and baseball, and the joy on the faces of the children as they hit the ball, or make a great catch, is delightful.
I was shocked to learn that the construction project at the 220/405 intersection won’t be complete this year but is planned to take two or three more years! I am not sure how much benefit we will see from the relocation of Race Street, and hope that the residential area in that northeast quadrant of town won’t suffer from unnecessary traffic once all is done.
Also just a reminder the museum is now open on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.
