By Staff | May 9, 2019

Congratulations and greetings to many students at Muncy School District. I knew the “Little Mermaid performance” would make it to Ray of Lights coming up May 25 at the Community Arts Center. Abbey Millard and Nevaeh Wertman are up for student design. Wertman and Aja Alvarez are nominated for Best Cameo while Amber Fry and Breanna King are contesting for Best Supporting Actress in a musical. Sacha Alvarez and Emma Hogan are listed for Lead Actresses and Collin Smith for Lead Actor. Best of luck to these wonderful actors and actresses.

Saturday, May 11th is National Eat What You Want Day, and considered one of the most anticipated holidays of the year (or at least it should be according to National Today.) Their research about which foods Americans would eat every day if they could, ranked pasta as second while pizza scored as the top choice. Last week my husband and I did the Brooklyn Pizza tour which I highly recommend. It was a bus tour with minimal walking which took us to some famous pizza places, Coney Island and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. For more information go to www.asliceofbrooklyn.com.

Little League Baseball and Softball and adidas announced a multi-year partnership in which the Portland, Ore., based company will be the official uniform, footwear and coaches apparel supplier for the Little League World Series (LLWS) and an Official Sponsor of Little League. Beginning this season, adidas will design and create all official on-field uniforms for all seven of the Little League World Series events throughout the United States. Additionally, adidas will outfit all teams with adidas cleats, training apparel and accessories and all coaches will be supplied with athletic footwear and apparel.

The Pennsylvania State Senate and the House of Representatives declared May 5-11, 2019 as “Conservation District Week.” This week offices across the state will hold events and meet with legislators in the State’s Capitol. These events will show the projects conservation districts work on every day that control pollution. The Lycoming District is managed by a seven member volunteer Board of Directors. Any landowner or occupier in Lycoming County is eligible to serve on the board or as a non-voting Associate Director. Monthly meetings take place at the Lysock Complex, 542 County Farm Road, Montoursville, PA 17754, the third Wednesday of each month (no meeting in December) at 7 p.m. All are welcome!!
