BARB BARRETT/The Luminary This patent from Dr. H G Kim was granted August 27, 1996 for his invention of the laparoscopic apparatus and can be seen on display in the new Heritage Room at UPMC Muncy Hospital.

MUNCY – Community members are invited to attend an open house for the new Heritage Room at UPMC Susquehanna Muncy Hospital on Sunday, June 9 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Staff from UPMC Susquehanna Muncy collaborated with the Muncy Historical Society and volunteers in the community to turn the hospital’s multi-purpose conference room into a new meeting space called The Heritage Room. The Heritage Room features historical items and displays highlighting the long and rich history of the hospital dating back to 1922 with the opening of the Noble Home, Muncy’s first hospital.

Light refreshments will be served during the open house and the staff and volunteers behind the room’s creation will be available to discuss the project.
