Hughesville Locals July 17, 2019

By Staff | Jul 17, 2019

The Lycoming County Fair is in full swing, with animals, games, exhibits and displays, rides, and lots of fun and tasty food. The festivities continue through this Saturday, so make your way to the Midway!

Saturday, July 20 is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon, the first such manned exploration of our lovely natural satellite. Many of us remember exactly what we were doing, and where and with whom, when the news came of the safe landing of “the Eagle”. The grainy, black and white images of the astronauts walking on the moon’s surface were broadcast world-wide, and are etched on my memory.

Enjoy this hot, steamy weather with dips in a pool, creek, or at local riverfront or lake beaches. We are in the midst of summer, so make the most of it!
