Hughesville Local column for September 4, 2019
Hughesville Locals
With Labor Day behind us, many folks are happy that their favorite season has, unofficially, arrived. Autumn, with its cool mornings and warm, but not scorching, afternoons, is an invigorating time. I often find that I feel more energetic and start doing many outdoor chores that I have been neglecting and avoiding, blaming the summer’s heat and humidity for my slothfulness. Can I claim mine to be a “natural” garden?
The Annual Rotary Balloonfest will be happening next week, so get ready for a great day of fun, food, and hot air balloons! Activities that will take place at the Lycoming County Fairgrounds include balloon rides, BMX bicycle performances, ATV races, puppet shows and a magician. The festival culminates Saturday evening with an air show, and laser light show. There will be food and craft vendors, bounce houses, helicopter rides, exhibits, and much more to entertain and enlighten. Rotary clubs from around Lycoming County will be sponsoring this event.
