Montgomery Locals 10/2/2019
Three Montgomery Area High School seniors have been chosen to embark on the opportunity of a lifetime this coming spring. Breanna Gardner, Dylan Ring, and Laura Ulrich have given some remarkable performances on stage in the high school auditorium as members of Virtuoso, and they have been given the honor of learning more about the craft of theatre by attending the New York City Broadway Summit.
This program will provide high-achieving musical theatre students from various high schools with the opportunity to learn from Broadway artists who are currently performing the Tony-award winning show “Hadestown.” The students will have an opportunity to watch “Hadestown” and to attend a series of workshops dealing with many different aspects of stage performance and musical theatre.
High School faculty member Carina McNear leads Virtuoso, and she also teaches music and communications. Virtuoso is currently busy with rehearsals for their winter play that will be performed in December. After a well-deserved Christmas break, the group will begin preparing for their spring musical.
