Montgomery Locals 10/9/2019

By Staff | Oct 9, 2019

Many thanks to the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Company for having such a wonderful Fall Festival last weekend. The event was held at the carnival grounds and the firemen as well as their volunteers kept busy in the kitchen cooking up many favorite foods. Townsfolk enjoyed eating well and strolling the many vendor tents and booths. There were some fundraiser events as well, and a fall-themed photo booth.

One of the main attractions of the day was the annual Pumpkin Roll, which was held on West Houston Avenue. A plethora of pumpkins was released from a trailer and scores of happy spectators watched the orange flood roll down the hill. After the 10 winners were determined, children were invited to take a pumpkin home.

The winners were: First place, $200-Jayla Koser; Second place, $100-Dawn Persing; Third place, $75-Larry Sauers; Fourth Place, $50-Tim Kunitz; Fifth Place, $25-Tammy Selleck; Sixth Place, $10-Greg

Gruver; Seventh Place, $10-Charlie Ulrich; Eighth Place, $10-Donna McCarty; Ninth Place, $10-Andrew Hering; and Tenth Place, $10-Emma Edkin.
