Luminary reader Karen Spring was the first to answer our question in the Feb. 5 issue in regards to the name of the bank on South Main street. “It was originally Citizens Nation Bank, then Commonwealth Bank, Meridian Bank, Corestate Bank, Corestate Bank, First Union, and then Sovereign and followed by Santander,” Karen said, who added that she was employed by all but the first and last financial institutions. Thanks Karen!
For the last 38 years, Son Light House has continually provided food, clothing, and limited furniture to individuals and families in need, who also qualify on family income guidelines in eastern Lycoming County. Currently, the organization is seeking donations of cereal, an inexpensive mainstay for many people. Hams are also being collected until the end of March, in time for the Easter distribution. Take advantage of the weekly deals from our local grocery and retail stores to help support those in need.
