Muncy locals 7.22

Area residents should be made aware that it’s the time of year to stay alert to avoid becoming a victim of unsolicited produce. Be watchful of vehicles that slow to a stop in your neighborhood. Witnesses claim the alleged perpetrators stealthily emerge from their vehicles and approach the intended household undetected. They then leave bags of harvested garden bounty-in particular, zucchini-on your porch.

As quickly as they arrive, they depart, bent on ridding themselves of over-productive vegetable gardens. If you find yourself a victim of such an incident, consider yourself blessed and keep it to yourself. Or, share the bag contents with friends. A word of caution: it is not beyond the donor to slip a bag into an unsecured auto, so take precautions and lock your vehicle doors.

Special thanks to Harold Hill who recently took it upon himself to pick up litter at Waldron Park on Division Street, as well as retrieving trash from the dry stream bed of Glade Run.

If you haven’t purchased a ticket for the pig roast benefit to help Harley “Chubby” Fry, information is on page 6 of this publication. Keep him “moo-ving” forward in recovery!
