Food Donations go to students

CAROL SHETLER/The Luminary Chris Ulrich, Advisor for the Future Farmer of America Chapter at Montgomery High School, holds food donation items collected at Eagle Grange.
The Eagle Grange, in cooperation with the FFA Chapters of Montgomery and Milton High Schools, sponsored a food drive this holiday season. Donations were brought to the Grange by those attending the November 7 meal and program.
Doug Bonsall, program director, put forward a motion stating; “As our recent turkey dinner was an overwhelming success, I move the Grange donate $200 to the cause, $100 to each school.” The membership agreed. These funds, along with other monetary donations, will go toward more food purchases.
Chris Ulrich, FFA advisor at Montgomery, shared how the district has a discreet way of making food available for students to take home. The donations go to all age levels at the school. The same distribution protocol is in place at Milton.
FFA members will transport the food donations to their respective schools.
