Volunteer programs are available for everyone
MUNCY – There are numerous volunteer programs available at Muncy Valley Hospital:
Applications are available anytime at the information desk in the main lobby at Muncy Hospital or apply online at www.susquehannahealth.org/volunteers.
The VolunTeen Team Teens get to assist patients and staff. Required ages to volunteer are 14 through 18. Other requirements include the ability to follow directions independently and demonstrate dependable behavior. Must volunteer at least two hours a week. Teens who are considering a medical career are encouraged to apply. See website for a copy of the VolunTEEN Pledge.
Skilled Nursing Unit Opportunities are available to assist residents with recreational activities, meals, events and parties, visiting pets, room visits, bible study, telling stories, sensory groups, seasonal programs, cards and crafts, coffee socials, games, cooking, stocking supplies, delivering ice water, helping in the beauty shop, and escorting patients.
Muncy Hospital Activities include escorting patients and their families, helping with admissions in the lobby, greeting new patients as they arrive, delivering staff mail and flowers, helping with applications, filing, making copies, organizing nursing charts, preparing mailings and assisting at the information desk.
The Life Center Located at the Lycoming Mall, there are many different items to perform such as taking blood pressures, greeting the public, working at health events, providing information, answering phones and helping with referrals and customer service.
Senior Citizens Information Center Open every Thursday morning, volunteers assist seniors with Medicare paperwork, rent rebates, and give referrals for medical needs and government programs.
Muncy Valley Hospital Auxiliary Members enjoy making teddy bears for children and elderly patients, operating the gift shop, and raising funds through various events such as the annual lawn party.
