HUGHESVILLE – The Historical Organizations of Lycoming County (HOLC) held its 20th quarterly gathering at the East Lycoming Historical Society Museum (ELHS) in Hughesville. Facilitator Larry Waltz said, “This is HOLC’s 20th meeting and we’re back at ELHS which hosted our very first meeting.”

At each gathering, a representative from each of the 10 member groups shares the activities and happenings at their respective site. They then move on to plan events in which all have an opportunity to participate jointly.

This July, four societies will feature displays inside the Shaffer building at the Lycoming County Fair. At the Lycoming Mall during the month of September, several groups will be docents at the Underground Railroad exhibit. Plans continue for the third annual county-wide museum passport program sponsored by the Lycoming County Visitors Bureau.

The group will meet again in August rotating hosts; next will be the Lycoming County Historical Society at the Thomas Taber Museum in Williamsport.
