The Sounds of Music filled Old Germany Church
Music for the annual homecoming at Old Germany Church was provided by the combined groups which consisted of The Greenwood Valley Boys and The Raven Creek Bands.
Some of the musicians Jim Bilger who had attended for many years recalled tables loaded with picnic fare and crowds of attendees placed in a clearing in the church yard.
The family of fellow musician John Faus holds special significance in that two of his ancestral families were donors. The Hartman’s gave land for the cemetery and the Renn family provided land for the church.
Jim Faus, president of the homecoming committee said, ” The church has had a building on the site since 1817, however it first burned and the current edifice was erected in 1874.”
The church is located in Franklin Township at the corner of Moreland Baptist Church and Germany Roads.
