Muncy Township Fire Company hosts annual event
PENNSDALE – Muncy Township was rewarded with a car show on Saturday to help raise funds for the Muncy Township Volunteer Fire Company in Pennsdale. According to Fire Chief Scott Oldweiler, this is the second annual car show sponsored by the fire company. A special committee was appointed to work on the event.
Also held at the fire hall to help with finances was an indoor yard sale and chicken barbecue. With plenty of space, the location was great and so was the weather reported Oldweiler. Over 70 cars were registered before noon in the parking lot which took place from 9 to noon.
Voting for the best 25 vehicles and best of show took place between noon and 1 p.m. Awards were presented at 3 p.m. This included a President’s award, the Fire Chief’s award, and the Ladies Auxiliary award. All of the trophies were donated by the Alexander Family dealerships and Blaise Alexander himself who lives nearby, made an appearance earlier in the morning to assist with the show.
Door prizes were given away throughout the day and many visitors stopped by to view the large selection of classic Fords, Chevys and imports,
- BARB BARRETT/The Luminary This special 1932 Chevrolet Cabriolet owned by Andy and Dee Follmer was a hit at the second annual car show held Saturday at the Pennsdale Civic Center.
