History Buffs 2020
Do you enjoy both local and national history? If so, consider attending History Buffs 2020, who meet at 9 a.m., the third Monday of each month. Locations alternate between D & D Brew Works, 4741 Route 220, Muncy Valley and Country View Restaurant, Route 118. Unityville.
On Monday, Feb. 17 David L. Richards, Picture Rocks native, author and licensed battlefield guide will be speaking about his recently released book, Civil War Tales at D & D Brew Works.
On March 16, Meg Geffken of Benton will speak about Mary Todd Lincoln at Country View Restaurant.
April 20 features Harry Owens, on the subject of Lincoln’s funeral train at D & D Brew Works
May 18, Nancy Evans will present the history of Little Golden Books at Country View.
On June 15, Sara Parrish will discuss the five newspapers of Sullivan County, at D & D Brew Works.
July 20 features Nate Steinruck speaking of Camp Lavigne memories at Country View.
Aug. 17, speaker Ruth Rode discusses Hunter Lake at D & D Brew Works.
Sept. 21, Charles Petrillo provides information about the Red Rock game farm at Country View.
Oct. 19, M. Norton describes football’s “Galloping Ghost” at D & D.
Nov. 16 at Country View, J. D. Bardo shares the history of Central Park Hotel.
Then on Dec. 21, Bob McGuire highlights the history of the ice box of PA at D &D.
