Mark Brewer, one of Muncy’s expert Blacksmiths, is probably the happiest men in town, and it is all because his wife on Wednesday morning presented him with twin boys, weighing respectively 8 1/2 and 9 pounds.

Died: William J. McCarty, son of Muncy’s most prominent business men died at his home in this borough on Monday afternoon, at 4 o’clock, aged 64 years, 5 months and 18 days.
We regret to announce the death of Jennie Eaton, wife of John M.B. Petrikin, at her home at Greeley, Colorado, on Tuesday.
Walter H. Dady, who has been missing from his hotel at Shenks Ferry, Lancaster County, was found floating in the river. William H. Venrick left for that place and will return with the body.
Clarence Rogers caused considerable excitement on last Saturday nigh in disposing of a barrel of live crabs at his grocery, on So. Main St.
Professor Harry Maxwell is here from Cogan Station. He has been elected principal of Port Penn Schools.

The Muncy Luminary Sept. 13, 1934
A most tragic accident occurred at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning when Walter W. Sayre, of South Main Street was electrocuted when he accidentally came in contact with a high power wire while picking apples in a tall tree at the rear of the Dell Rager home, on South Washington St.

Sheridan, of West Penn Street, Muncy., were united n marriage on Saturday, September 1st. at the Methodist parsonage in Hughesville, by the Rev. Faus.
Births: To Mr. and Mrs. Murray Laurenson, on Sept. 6, a daughter who has been named Mary Ellen. Mrs. Laurenson was formerly Miss Sarah Anderson.
Deaths: Hervey M. Plotts, aged 75 years, of North Market Street, died Friday evening; Mrs. Ella Shopbell, died Sunday evening, Sept. 2; Mrs. Clara Goodenow, formerly of this place, 87 years old, died last week; Mrs. Lucy Kamp, wife of Perry Kamp, Williamsport, died at the city hospital Sunday night.

The new Sylvania Electronics Systems plant at Hall’s Station was dedicated Sept. 17. Open several months ago, the 70,000 square foot facility feature latest equipment manufactures for military, mainly the Air Force’s ballistic missile warning systems.

Gerald Bischof attended a reunion of American College alumni in Rome.The George Medrick Hall on Muncy’s Railroad St, site of distribution of surplus food to eligible families is launched by Local 3181 United Steelworkers. Richard A. Smith, engineman third class, USN, son of Mrs. Hoyd Keiser near Muncy, is serving aboard the USS Walworth in the Mediterranean. Glenwood Crist, reports 1,180 students enrolled in Montgomery Schools. Mrs. A. C. Curtin, Muncy, is new president of the Susquehanna Chapter of American Business Women Association. Curtin is a retired state woman’s parole officer. Mrs. Ann Corson, 79, honored at birthday party at home of granddaughter, Mrs. Norman Heincelman of New Street. Misses Ruth App and Clara Edwards flew o White Sands, New Mexico spending two weeks with Mrs. Eugene (Lois Reed) Fahringer, whose husband Col. Eugene is stationed with military there. Rufus Fetter, well-known architect, will open the Muncy Historical Society season with a slide presentation the “Review of Events” over the years.
The BCP Little League team of Hughesville captured the championship for the third consecutive year. Manager Dale O’Connor will receive the Leo C. Williamson Memorial Award symbolic of the league’s outstanding manager. His assistant Bob McCowan, also is to be congratulated for a job well done.
