Mrs. Carrie Rooker drew the lucky number in a “Moher Oats” package and through Hoffman & Downing received on Tuesday a set of china dishes, consisting of fifty-four pieces.

Henry Ring and Charles Harter, who with a number of other Muncyites were fishing at Beaver Dam, caught a turtle that tips the scales at 48 pounds.

Married: Mr. C. E. Watson and Miss Mary a. DeLany were married this morning at 9:30 o’clock by Rev. A. R. DeWitt, pastor of St. James Church, at the home of the bride’s father, Mr. John DeLany, on s Main street.

The Muncy baseball team was defeated in a game with the Milton team, at Milton, on Saturday by a score of 12-13. This is the first time this season that our boys have suffered defeat.

Ralph Bly, a former Muncy boy has secured a position as special delivery messenger at the Chicago post office.

Herbert Plotts, the young son of MR. and MRs. Hervey Plotts, is seriously ill at his home on North Market street. Attending physicians have slight hopes for his recovery.

Prof. W. H. Bertin of the Muncy Normal faculty won the first price of $50 for the best junior class oration at Bucknell University, Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Lauchle celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary at their home in Penn Township, in Muncy R.D. 4 on Sunday.

Miss Elizabeth Denny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harmer D. Denny, of Pittsburgh, who is spending the summer at “Mill House” on the Henry Brock Farm, is recovering from injuries received when she was thrown from horse on Sunday while riding on Market Street.

A motorist passing through town Wednesday afternoon, ran into and stunned a collie pup belonging to the Zettle children. The dog ran into the path of the car, in front of the postoffice. The motorist stopped his car and waited long enough to determine that the dog was only temporarily stunned before proceeding on his way.

On June 20, Keystone Hook and Ladder Company firefighter James Hotchkiss of Muncy attended the Interschutz 2000 Fire Technologies Convention in Augsburg, Germany.

After graduating from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, with a double major in International Studies and Spanish in 1998, Muncy High School graduate Brian Auten committed to a 28-month assignment with the Peace-Corps from Sept. to Dec., 2001.

When skies parted and dropped rain last Monday, Fogelman and Confer roads off Route 405 became rivers.

Aaron Messner of Muncy pitched six innings against Jersey Shore last Saturday in the 11 and 12 year old All Star game. Muncy won 7-0.
