A sad drowning occurred at Port Penn, Thursday afternoon, the victim being Theodore Brass, the 5-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ollie C. Brass. Young Brass, accompanied by Ralph Hitesman were playing on an old flat boat in the river when the lad fell off.
A number of young men of this place organized a club of about 20 members and their room are in the Gundrum building. They have named it the “Lotus Reading Club.”
Misses Edna Downing, Clara Bailey and Annadell Harris attended a six o’clock dinner at the home of MR. and MRs. D.W. Shollenberger, in Montgomery, n Friday evening last.
John W. Swartz, of Pennsdale, slaughtered a large porker last week. IT raised the beam at 576 pounds. Nearly live cans of lard were obtained.

Mrs. H. M. Lightfoot and Miss Edith Bruner have returned from Philadelphia and Miss Marion Robb from Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Edith Albright and daughters, Frances and Carlene, left on Tuesday for PHiladelphia, where they will spend two weeks.
Miss Florence Crawford is home from New York City to spend the Christmas vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Crawford and family.
Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Anderson were called to Williamsport on account of the death of their daughter, Mrs. Wright.

About fifty Rotarians and guests assembled at the Rotary supper last Friday night, were privileged to hear an interesting talk given by R. George Harvey, special agent in charge of the Pennsylvania Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice.
Muncy’s main street at night sure does nook brighter since bigger lights have replaced those small candle power lights that have kept us in the wilderness for several years.
Mrs. Sallie Clapp is quite seriously ill at her home in South Market street, with pneumonia.
Deaths: Mrs. Zitella X. Snook, wife of Ward E. Snook, formerly of this place died at her home in Shamokin on Sunday afternoon, aged 71 years and 7 days; James Pierson Fague, a former resident of Muncy and employee of Sprout, Waldron &Co., ,died Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter in Collegeville, after an illness of five weeks, aged 79 years.

William Smith, valley telephone pioneer under whose leadership dial operations were installed in the West Branch Bell Telephone company died Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Fernandez Nursing Home, where he had been a guest in recent years.
Births: A daughter, Beth Ann, was born Dec. 9 to Mr. and Mrs. William E. Edgeworth, of Md. The mother is the former Marie Iron, of Montoursville.

Mrs. Bruce Starr Jr., Music chairman, presented the Rev. Robert E. Berger, pastor of First Baptist Church, who showed a film of beautiful picture depicting the Christmas story interspersed with carols which the group joined in singing.
