The Muncy Luminary

The James Boys’ League of this place, played a game of baseball with the East Muncy team Saturday, and the game resulted in a score of 13 to 12 in favor of the James Boys’ League.
William Madison, who recently moved here with his family from Moreland Township, has bought the lot owned by Joseph Reibsam opposite the M.E. Church on So. Market street, on which he will erect a fine residence.
Married: On April 16, by the Rev.G. L. MacIntosh, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Noble C. Butler, at Indianapolis, Dr. J. Boyd Risk and MIss Mary Browning. Dr. Risk is an old Muncy boy.

The automobile law of the state limiting the speed of autos to 12 miles per hour on streets, is daily violated in this place.
Died: Mrs. Grover C. Reeder, of this place, died at the Koser Sanitarium, in Williamsport Friday morning, following an operation. The remains were brought to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kolh, on Washington street.
Charles W. Harter,t he druggist, while at work in his store last Thursday, fell and badly sprained his arm. While the injury is a very painful one, it is rapidly healing.
Woolen underwear is still out of the moth bag.

Miss Melva Dewalt, 23, of near Montgomery, was instantly killed last Thursday afternoon when the coupe in which she was riding was struck by a southbound PA Railroad flyer, near the Montgomery Lounge Company where she was employed.
Frank A. Reeder, age 67, president of the First National Bank of Hughesivlle; proprietor of the C. W. Reeder Lumber Co., and brother of our townsmen, Milton E. and Robert K. Reeder, died of an acute heart attack about 1:30 o’clock last Friday afternoon while driving his car at Picture Rocks; Mrs. Harvey Albeck, of East Penn street, died about 9:30 this morning (Thursday) a short time after suffering a stroke at her home; Mrs. Mary C. Edwards, widow of Herbey Edwards, died early Friday morning at the home of her son, Iram L. Edwards; Mrs. Nancy M. Gundrum, widow of William Gundrum died Monday morning, aged 84 years; Benjamin F. Snyder, 79 year old resident of Huntersville, died Friday afternoon; Rev. Michael S. Derstine, died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, aged 71; Raymond D. Vanderbilt, 65, died of a heart attack last Saturday; Amon C. Bartlow, 56, of Opp, died at his home Thursday afternoon after a year’s illness; George W. Dewald, aged 29, died at his home in Anthony Township, died after a week’s illness with pneumonia; Seymour Artley, 67, died Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter in Hughesville.

The Rev. Gerald Bischof, pastor at the Church of The Resurrection in Muncy for the past 13 years will become pastor of St. Mary’s parish in Pittston on May 11.
