The Muncy Luminary
July 10, 1902
On the morning of the Fourth Mrs. Irvin Schock, while loading a blank cartridge pistol, the weapon was accidently discharged, the wad entering the thumb. Medical attention was required.
A large number of burglaries were committed in Muncy and vicinity on Friday afternoon. The residents and their families were all attending the Fourth of July celebration here, and the robbers, taking advantage of the opportunity, entered and robbed their homes.
John DeWald, of near Muncy station, fell from a freight training Friday and had two fingers of his right hand cut off.

July 13, 1911
Sunday afternoon about 12:30 o’clock fire broke out in the stable of Dr. J.W. Albright, and before subdued by the firemen, ad destroyed that building and also the barn belonging to George L. Painter.
It is claimed that there are thirty-two automobiles in Hughesville. By actual count we can place only about half that number. Muncy has thirty-two cars all in good running order and in use daily. We don’t exaggerate down here.

Died: Jerry B. Mincemoyer, aged 57, died at his home on North Market Street at 5:30 o’clock Wednesday morning after several months illness; Miss Amanda Meck, daughter of the late Benjamin Meck and a former resident of Muncy, died Monday at the National Lutheran Home at Washington, D. C.
