Thursday, Feb. 20, 1903

Howard R. Wallis has had a quantity of stone hauled from the mountain for the foundation of his new factory to be erected soon.

Miss Mary Winter entertained her nieces and nephews at a dinner party on Saturday, at her home on North Main Street. Those present were Misses Irene Winter, of Hughesville; and Rebecca Banzhaf; John Winter, Harry, Walter, John, George, and Clayton Banzhaf, of this place.

Judge Hart several days ago appointed Ivan Russell, Wm. J. McCarty, and John Kift viewers to locate the new bridge being erected on the road between Hughesville and Picture Rocks.

A new trial in the case of Chas. Brownell, convicted at the December criminal court of falsely representing himself as being a notary public, was refused by the court Monday.

Thursday, Feb. 22, 1912

Miss Emma Grace Heberling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Heberling, was united in marriage to Robert McBride at the bride’s home on West Pepper street, on Tuesday evening.

Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Rauch celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary, at their home on Penn Street, by entertaining their children and grand-children.

Thursday, Feb. 8, 1937

Thomas E. Grady, aged 74, one of Montgomery’s most prominent citizens, died at 1:10 o’clock Tuesday afternoon after a five-day illness.

Mild winter weather has speeded progress in the construction of the new Muncy post office to such an extent, that an early opening is now foreseen.

Died: Mrs. Naomi Elizabeth Nuss, age 28, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther L. Yeagle, North Main street, last Thursday evening, after a brief illness of pneumonia; Mrs. Magdalena Beilhartz died Tuesday at the home of her son, Charles Beilhartz, on North Main street, following an illness of two weeks; Mrs. Godfrey Kunz and Mrs. Frank Painton received word the past week of the death of their uncle, Henry Boyer, who died on Monday morning in Michigan, as the result of an auto accident the night before.

Fulmer App is convalescing from his recent attack of pneumonia and grippe.

Calvin Harter has been confined to his home with an attack of grippe.

Leonard Rogers copped the $40 Bank Night award at the Ritz Theatre, Monday evening.
